“Lone Star College has played a large role in my life for the past few years,” said Rachel Perez, LSC graduate. The scholarship is partially funded by the Lone Star College Foundation. LSC Promise then funds the balance of tuition and mandatory fees due for students who still demonstrate financial need.

Students who apply are given assistance to navigate and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). That’s why we established the LSC Promise, a scholarship and community service program that provides two years of “last-dollar” money that can be used at any Lone Star College location. LSC was the first community college in the nation to gain accreditation by the International Association of Drilling Contractors, a group that has exclusively represented the worldwide oil and gas industry since 1940.Īs a former director of Financial Aid, I personally saw the need to make as many scholarships available as possible. LSC is also known as a global leader in workforce training that helps students launch new careers in some of the hottest industries in the Houston region, like health care, computer technology, HVAC-R, construction, skilled trades, accounting, energy, transportation and many more. In addition, LSC also offers dual credit courses, allowing high school students the opportunity to earn high school and college credit at the same time, saving them time and money in earning their degrees. This year, LSC students are able to study in Italy, Greece or Ireland or participate in a cultural exchange visit to China. We also provide students with the opportunity to study abroad. Students seeking to improve their college transcripts and transferability with challenging coursework across a broad range of disciplines can enroll in The Honors College at LSC. “I got my Associate Degree there in 2015 and was able to transfer to UT Austin to get a Bachelor of Arts.” “Lone Star College really offered me a strong start,” said Jeff Fiore via Facebook.
